All releases by Semprini Records and its subdivision Signed By Force Records will finally be available worldwide starting this fall. The European distribution will be expertly handled by Cargo Records Germany and in the U.S. by NAIL Distribution and Cobraside (vinyl only).
Austrian-born Lonely Drifter Karen (aka Tanja Frinta) has been licensed to Semprini Records for Canada only via Belgium’s Crammed Discs. Her enchanting debut album “Grass Is Singing” comes out in Canada on September 2nd, 2008. Semprini stalwarts Pas Chic Chic have been graced by two Gamiq award nominations in the “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” and “Indie Rock Album of the Year” categories. The Signed By Force imprint has three nominations including Trigger Effect in the “Punk Album of the Year” as well as both Bionic and Starvin Hungry duking it out for “Rock Album of the Year”. After the success of her home made video of “The Owl Moans Low”, the official new video for “This World Is Crazy” finally sees the light of day. The clip was filmed in Mallorca and was directed by Miguel Eek
The band’s touring van was broken into last tuesday night in Belgium forcing them to cancel their December 4th date at London’s Metro Club. As it stands we have no rescheduled UK appearances. No worries though, they’ll be back in Europe in early 2009.

Montreal’s bad boys of rock’n’roll join the Semprini family with a re-release of their first self titled EP. As the feral child of the Montreal indie music scene, Chocolat forgo pretension for passion. Their dirty, retro futuristic ass-shaking mix of psychedelic garage and bluesy, folk-rock is the soundtrack for the misadventures of modern day miscreants everywhere. Singer and former one man band Jimmy Hunt’s Dylanesque crooning glides over frenzied riffs, serpentine basslines, greasy organs and pounding drums spit out by a pedigree of rock stripes fought and earned for by members of Demon’s Claws (In The Red), CPC Gangbangs (Swami Records) and The Cockroaches (Solid Sex Lovie Doll). With the band currently on hiatus, the release has been delayed, but we'll be keeping you posted.
Partner label Signed By Force may have the annual BBQs but Semprini Records has the holiday cheer. This year marks our first annual holiday party with the guest DJs being the owners of some of Montreal’s finest 2nd hand record stores. See and hear Eduardo from Primitive, Denis from Le Pickup, Bruno aka Satan Bélanger from Sonowax / Disquivel and Mathieu from Sonik battle it out for who’s got the rarest of the rare.
